Derived, not configured
One of those words is doing real work. The other is a form field with a nicer name.
The two ways an itinerary gets made

Why it changes which camps appear at all
This is the part that is easy to miss. A configured trip draws from the operator’s circuit, which is drawn from the camps they have contracts and volume with. That is a real shortlist and it is not a bad one — but it is a shortlist that existed before you did.
A derived trip starts from the requirement. "We want one day out of the vehicle and we do not want a communal table" rules out national parks for the first and large lodges for the second, and what is left is a different set of camps than the circuit contains.
The three-sentence test
Give a specialist three sentences about what you want the days to be like. If the reply is a circuit you could have found on a comparison site, you have been configured.
If the reply names a camp you had not heard of and explains why the order is unusual, somebody did the work.
What bespoke is not
- Not more expensive by definition. The brief sets the price, not the word.
- Not a guarantee of exclusivity. Bespoke and private are different things; you can have either without the other.
- Not a promise about animals. No route buys a leopard.
- Not slow. A first draft in 24 hours is normal; the elapsed time is mostly you deciding.
